LA-based Knit Wit was born from an idea for a zine. It's sort of a groovy arts and fashion magazine that happens to revolve around the fiber arts — from knitting to block printing to quilting and weaving and beyond. Interviews, studio visits, fashion spreads ... it's got it all. NOW WITH PATTERNS! And in a beautifully designed, uncoated, ad-free package.

Issue 6 (Mid 2017) includes studio tours with Poppy and Pima designer Gina Rockenwagner, textile designer Gregory Parkinson and knitwear designer Lindsay Degen; visits with knitted goods makers Nido in Argentina (one of my personal favorites!) and a New Denim mill in Guatamela; and lots more — including patterns! For the first time. A tote pattern, two sweater patterns and a quilt pattern.

Issue 5 (Early 2017) includes an interview by me (Karen Templer) about building a slow-fashion wardrobe; and features childrens' knitwear makers Misha and Puff, weaver Meghan Shimek, rug-making performance artist Alise Anderson, dyer Audrey Louise Reynolds, a piece on the American alpaca fiber market, Co-Lab, Ace & Jig, and lots more.
